Peace March & Rally
On
Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10
a.m. a combined effort of Churches, Community Leaders, Law Enforcement,
Social Service Agencies and City Leaders will come together for a PEACE
MARCH AND RALLY.

This
will be an opportunity for the community to come together, listen,
learn and most importantly, to heal from some of the emotions felt by
recent gang violence and the lives lost in San Antonio.

At
a recent press conference held at the Barbara Jordan Center, Darrell
Boyce, explained, “There is a need for communities to come together
and say NO MORE to crime and violence and this Peace March & Rally is
a kick off event for the NO MORE Campaign which is focused on reducing
gang violence, substance abuse and crime in our city.

The
March will start at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther
King Drive and Bellinger and end with a Peace Rally at the Dorie
Miller Center at 2802 Martin Luther King Drive. There will be guest
speakers, FREE food, and entertainment for the whole family.
