Peace March & Rally

On Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. a combined effort of Churches, Community Leaders, Law Enforcement, Social Service Agencies and City Leaders will come together for a PEACE MARCH AND RALLY.

This will be an opportunity for the community to come together, listen, learn and most importantly, to heal from some of the emotions felt by recent gang violence and the lives lost in San Antonio.

East Weed & See Coordinator Darrell Boyce addresses the media and attendees during the Peace March & Rally press conference.

At a recent press conference held at the Barbara Jordan Center, Darrell Boyce, explained, “There is a need for communities to come together and say NO MORE to crime and violence and this Peace March & Rally is a kick off event for the NO MORE Campaign which is focused on reducing gang violence, substance abuse and crime in our city.

Commissioner Tommy Adkisson discusses the importance of the Peace March & Rally event.

The March will start at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Bellinger and end with a Peace Rally at the Dorie Miller Center at 2802 Martin Luther King Drive.  There will be guest speakers, FREE food, and entertainment for the whole family.
