The Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC) is designed to carry out outreach and applied research activities that address the urban problems of the San Antonio Fighting Back, Inc. empowerment zone.  This alliance bridges the gap between research and practice to provide comprehensive community and research driven strategies by applying human, intellectual, and institutional resources to the challenge of revitalizing the distressed communities significantly impacted by substance abuse and it's related mayhem of crime, violence and economic devastation.

The goals of the Community Outreach Partnership Center are to: 1) establish a center that is available and accessible to faith-based and community-based organizations; 2) utilize the center to build the capacity and skills of residents to increase home ownership opportunities, improve and revitalize their neighborhoods, increase technology, literacy and workplace skills; and 3) utilize the Center to expand the health and human service infrastructure and strengthen the economic infrastructure of the empowerment zone.

In collaboration with the University of Texas Health Science Center - START Center, San Antonio Fighting Back, Inc. will work to utilize all of its existing programs and resources to accomplish COPC's goals to make the community a sufficient, safer place to live by providing the community with the tools they need to change themselves.
