Coliseum Willow Park Neighborhood Association

The Coliseum Willow Park Neighborhood Association continues to be very active within the East Weed & Seed service area and leads problem solving processes for the East community. The neighborhood association actively works with community policing officers as the "eyes and ears" of the community. They have identified many locations that traffic narcotics as well as many other quality life issues.

Disciples for Christ

"Walking With A Vision" is a faith-based ministry that offers preaching, teaching, counseling and matrimonial ceremonies. Church services are offered Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, and Sunday mornings from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM at the Barbara Jordan Community Center, 2803 E. Commerce St.

Community Economic Revitalization Agency

In October 1998, the Eastside Economic Development Corporation opened its doors to provide economic development services for the Eastside of San Antonio inclusive of the Weed & Seed target area. The focus of the Community Economic Revitalization Agency is to recruit businesses to the area to increase job opportunities as well as develop affordable housing.

Elite Counseling Services & Alamo Recovery Center, Inc.

Both Elite Counseling Services & Alamo Recovery Center, Inc. provide substance abuse and family counseling services to Young Offender Program participants. Services from these agencies are provided through funding from the Texas Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse, and the County Treatment Alternatives to Incarceration Program.

Active since 1996, the FBI participates through the Community Relations Coordinator who assists the committee by researching community indicator data and serving on the Epidemiology Work Group.

Fingerprint Technician "For the Love of Kids"
Volunteers perform non-criminal fingerprinting at events for children and their parents.

Love Demonstrated Ministries

Love Demonstrated Ministries provides the Faith-Based Component for the San Antonio Young Offender Program, which includes an intensive life skills training program focused on teamwork, leadership, responsibility, self-discipline, and respect for oneself and their family. The "trainees" also complete daily physical training and community service projects.

Military Participation
The DEFY program provides youth from both Weed & Seed target areas with a week-long camp that exposes youth to peer pressure resistance skills; anti-drug and anti-gang activities; confidence building activities to enhance self-esteem; and positive role modeling through interaction with military personnel. Aditionally, military personnel serve as staff at the residential camp, and police officers serve as Mentors in the schools within the Weed & Seed target area.
