Active
since the implementation of the first Weed & Seed grant in 1992,
the DA's Office has been a strong source of support and the office
maintains statistics on convictions and punishments that are Weed
& Seed related. Personnel from the DA's Office serve on an
Epidemiology Work Group, which collects, tracks, and geo-maps crime,
public health, education, and economic development community
indicators to respond to trends. Additionally, the office
participates in planning effective strategies to empower residents
in problem solving and is proactive in the development of special
projects such as the "gang-free zone" program, which
prohibits gang members from congregating in certain neighborhood
areas. The office also coordinates activities for Victims
Rights Week in April each year. |

CADCA Greenhouse Coalition uses the Continuum That Cares'
model and strategies to identify community leaders that will assist
in implementing this model into the schools and the community.
The goal is to build protection around risk factors that impact the
community, family, school, peers and individuals. Through surveys,
the coalition is able to identify community needs and address them
through the coalition members or other community partners.

& Seed service area. This Association began in 1996 as a
revitalized neighborhood, which had 54 abandoned homes, that were
