This
Coalition, funded by Youth Crime Watch of America (YCWA), consists of over
114 Youth and Crime and Drug Watch Clubs from schools, public housing
sites, and community centers. These youth-led Clubs work to create
drug-free and crime-free environments in schools and neighborhoods and
work to: 1) provide crime-free, drug-free school and community
environments for learning and living; 2) instill positive values, foster
good citizenship and build self-confidence in our young people; and 3) enable youth to become resources for preventing drug abuse and other
crimes in their schools and neighborhoods. Through a variety of
trainings and events, which include: weekend leadership retreats,
implementation trainings, teleconferences, and an annual National Youth
Crime Prevention Conference; YCWA promotes good citizenship where youth
are seen as part of the solution and take an active role in addressing the
problems around them.
